YOGA ENHANCES STRENGTH

Yoga is a form of exercise designed by the ancients to prepare them for hours of sitting in meditation. Today it is a wonderful pursuit that enhances strength, flexibility and well being.

The Sanskrit word yoga has many meanings, and is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning "to control", "to yoke" or "to unite". Translations include "joining", "uniting", "union", "conjunction", and "means". Outside India, the term yoga is typically associated with Hatha Yoga and its asanas (postures) or as a form of exercise. A practitioner of Yoga is called a Yogi (gender neutral) or Yogini (feminine form).

Meg started practicing yoga in 1999 to help enhance her long distance running. An injury curtailed her running to a great degree and yoga came to the forefront. Meg has graduated from two 200-hour yoga alliance certified teacher training
programs: the Bodhi Tree 2004 with Lisa Crocker and Subtle Yoga 2009 with Kaoverii Weber. Meg's interest in the diversity of yoga inspired her participation in both programs. Meg graduated from Rolf Gates' Yoga Alliance certified 500-hour Teacher Training in December 2012. In 2007 Meg traveled to India where she attended the International Yoga Festival in Reshikesh and then continued down the Ganges stopping at various cities and visiting local teachers.

Meg loves studying and learning and has taken continued training with Erich Schiffman, Desiree Rambaugh, Gurumukh, Bryan Kest , Sarah Powers, Sean Corn and Doug Keller.
Meg is studying locally with Lisa Tendler and Grace Morales.
Meg is currently teaching at Gotta Yoga LKN, The Fitness Connection, Core Fitness as well as private clients in the area.
Meg often suggests yoga homework to her body work clients.
